Resident Services Coordinator, DC Sites
Vesta Corporation, headquartered in Weatogue, CT, currently has an exciting opportunity located in DC for a Resident Services Coordinator. The Resident Services Coordinator will be responsible for improving the quality of life for adult residents of affordable housing communities through provision of education, vocation and other opportunities for self-improvement and realization of individuals’ goals. The RSC will supervise after-school programs, summer and nutritional programs for resident children. The RSC must endeavor to increase resident access to an array of services by facilitating resident participation in both on-site and off-site programs designed to enhance physical, social, and mental well-being.
Responsibilities include; developing and maintaining linkages with D.C. area resources regarding information and services available to address residents’ needs, promoting a positive social climate that fosters residents’ well-being, developing relationships with D.C. area third party providers available to address the social and recreational needs of the community, and organizing events and on-site programming, provided by third-party providers, for residents. The Resident Services Coordinator will also be responsible for maintaining information on relevant referral resources i.e. accessing rent/utility assistance, housekeeping, and local supportive service providers in assisting residents to obtain income through employment, SSI or SSD, etc., conducting program outreach including and not limited to going door to door and other creative outreach strategies, creating and distributing marketing materials and monthly newsletters. The successful candidate will be expected to provide professional communication and leadership in a variety of meeting/presentation settings that support open, honest communication and inclusion of diversity, and will communicate effectively with residents, community partners, and management. Additionally, the Resident Service Coordinator will be expected to assist residents in understanding requirements of tenancy outlined in resident new move-in packets, follow-up on notices given to residents and work proactively to decrease lease violations that result in evictions, document contact with residents, providers, and families, collect and maintain data, draft reports and provide feedback to supervisors, and prepare and circulate statistics from a variety of sources for financial, legal and administrative requirements, and other duties as assigned by management.
